Verigy Recognized by Customers in Japan for 'Quality of Results Achieved' in VLSI Research's Survey on Equipment Suppliers

SEMICON Japan - Dec. 5, 2007 - Verigy (NASDAQ: VRGY), a premier semiconductor test company, has ranked among the top 20 favorite equipment suppliers in Japan on the 2007 VLSI Research Inc customer satisfaction survey. These rankings, part of VLSI Research's global annual customer satisfaction survey, are based on responses from users of chip making equipment in Japan rating their suppliers on 13 equipment performance and customer service categories. Japan-based customers rated Verigy highly in the critical "Quality of Results" category.

"Verigy has a 20-year heritage in the ATE business in Japan, going back to the beginning of semiconductor test solutions from HP, and then Agilent. Today there are more than 200 Verigy V93000 SOC test systems installed with major IDMs in Japan," said Keith Barnes, chairman, CEO and president, Verigy. "Throughout our history, there has been a continuous dedication to providing customers with superior semiconductor test solutions through world-class technology innovation and delivery. This recognition from our customers in Japan is another confirmation of our continued success in this important region."="

"Japan's concentration of world-leading device manufacturers makes the country a unique environment in today's electronics market," said Risto Puhakka, president, VLSI Research. "This year's survey results indicate the value these customers see in the quality of Verigy's solutions."

The VLSI Research annual Customer Satisfaction Survey on Chip Making Equipment is the only publicly available opportunity for chip manufacturers to provide feedback on their suppliers. The Best in Japan rankings award special recognition to the suppliers that are rated highest by their customers. The results for the 2007 rankings are based on the survey conducted in early 2007, and were drawn from a distribution of approximately 7,000 questionnaires sent by mail, email, and fax to over 450 companies located in Japan as part of the annual, global survey. According to VLSI Research, all of the companies that responded to the customer satisfaction survey around the world represented 95% of 2005's worldwide chip production.
