CUPERTINO, Calif. - Oct. 27, 2008 - Verigy Ltd. (NASDAQ: VRGY), a premier semiconductor test company, has established an office in Petach Tikva, Israel. Verigy established a wholly-owned subsidiary in Israel effective Sept. 1, 2008. Arie Barak was appointed Country Manager for Verigy Israel. Verigy's Israeli office will focus on sales, service and support for the region.

Israel continues to be an important force in the semiconductor industry, with contributions in microprocessors, data and voice communications, wireless, IP and networking communications, medical, consumer, automotive, defense and more. Israel is home to five semiconductor fabs, over 150 fabless semiconductor companies, and extensive research and development facilities and design centers.

Mr. Barak joined Verigy's predecessor company, Agilent Technologies, in 2000, after several years in the semiconductor test industry. He began as a test engineer, and has served as an applications engineer and in sales leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Braude College, Israel.
