SmarTest Signal Analyzer

The Verigy V93000 SOC Series SmarTest Signal Analyzer is a general purpose, x-y graphical environment that enables users to create custom waveforms, display created or measured waveforms and analyze signal characteristics. SmarTest Signal Analyzer is a component of the SmarTest 4.3 software release.

SmarTest Signal Analyzer provides all of the functionality of the Mixed Signal Tool, plus new push-button ease-of-use. Standard, built-in library functions are provided to convert waveforms between the time and frequency domains, calculate statistics or measure waveform distortion or SNR characteristics and document results.

SmarTest Signal Analyzer includes the following time-saving toolbar capabilities, now accessible with push-button ease:
  • Waveform creation (multi-tone, equation based)
  • Time and frequency domain transformation (FFT)
  • Waveform statistics (mean, std dev, max, min)
  • Waveform distortion (THD, SNR, SND)
  • Waveform math (sum, difference, markers, cursors)
The push buttons on the Graphical User Interface toolbar are also customizable. The user can assign proprietary or commercially available algorithms for easily accessible, repetitive operations.
  • Rapid visual feedback of device performance for design validation.
  • Better understand device performance to improve decision making
  • Improve device design and yield

Features & Benefits

Feature Benefit
Intuitive interface   Intuitive interface reduces learning curve and mimics industry standard benchtop instruments so test engineers can quickly begin analyzing signal waveforms.

Built in tool bar functions   Organizes common functionality for markers or auto-calculation of THD, SNR, std dev, etc., with a single push-button.

User defined functions   Customizable toolbar can be configured with proprietary measurements or 3rd party algorithms. Push buttons drive pop-up menus to set up parameters such as calculation dependencies for rise time.

Multiple Display Interface   Flexibility gives users up to 64 graph windows arranged in tiled, cascaded, minimized or maximized views (compared to 4 in the Mixed Signal Tool). Graph capabilities mimic Excel charts for colors, styles, etc.

New API command functionality   Use API commands to capture 2 dimensional waveforms for further analysis and generic x-y display of processed information. Legacy commands are supported to bridge learning curve and allow test code reuse.
